We Maintain an Inventory of Quality Reloading Equipment & Supplies for Our Customers Across Lakeland, Plant City, & Winter Haven, FL
Shooters having an interest in saving money on ammo is one reason for the popularity of reloading.
Reloading, also referred to by some as handloading, has been growing in popularity in recent years. Probably one of the contributing factors to this trend includes the difficulties in acquiring certain ammo during the mid-2000s market scarcity of .22LR and other calibers. However, the majority of the new reloaders that we speak to meniton their interest in saving money on ammo.
At Rapture Guns & Knives, we have certainly noticed the growth of shooters picking up the skill of reloading in and around the communities of Lakeland, Plant City, and Winter Haven, Florida. This is why we make sure to keep our inventory well-stocked with all the quality reloading supplies and equipment that reloaders need for their craft.
One reason we have supported the growth of gun owners doing their own handloading is that they often are individuals who are interested in becoming more accurate shooters. More accurate shooters are safer shooters!
Reloading Supplies We Sell
For those new to reloading, we make it easy to get a start by selling a kit that is excellent for beginners and that has become an item that is hard to keep on our shelves. This item is the Lock-N-Load Classic Kit by Hornady.
Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic Kit
For the novice, reloading can seem daunting in part because it may not be clear to them what tools are needed for the task. However, the Lock-N-Load Classic Kit by Hornady takes away such concerns!
Not only does the Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic Kit comes with all the reloading equipment a beginner would need, it also includes a handbook that explains the process of reloading and the function of the tools involved.
A few of the items you will find in this kit include:
- Chamfer & Deburring Tool
- Powder Funnel
- 3 Die Brushings
- Universal Reloading Block
- Primer Catcher
And that’s just for starters!
Brass casings function as the container that holds all the contents of the round. This includes the bullet itself, the propellant or powder, and the primer that ignites the powder.
We sell brass casings for any round you could want to handload, from pistols on up to shotguns and rifles.
Aluminum casings are a viable option for reloading too, but are often shunned because of the common misconception that they are not as durable as their brass counterparts.
A problem that is more likely to occur with cheap factory ammo is that the primer fails to ignite the propellant that fires the bullet because the cup of the primer does not collapse when struck by the firing pin.
As a reloader, you can nip that potential problem in the bud by using the quality primers that we stock. We carry different sized primers to accommodate reloading for different types of firearms.
Bullets are the actual business end of the round. And so, what caliber of ammo are you reloading...9mm, .223, .308? No matter what type of round you are loading, we have the caliber of bullet you need.
Bullet Die Sets
Do you want to take your reloading to the next level? Don’t use premade bullets to cap off each round that you produce, purchase one of our bullet die sets from our ammunition reloading section and make your own bullets!
At Rapture Guns & Knives, we enjoy the ability we have to provide something for everyone, which includes selling diecasts for the most serious of reloaders who want to make their bullets from scratch.
Propellants can come in the form of traditional black gunpowder to the more modern smokeless powders. The smokeless powders contain nitrocellulose. The function of the propellant is to create the expanding gas that propels and accelerates the bullet down the barrel of the gun.
Benefits of Reloading
When we talk to the reloaders from all around Lakeland, Plant City, and Winter Haven, and ask them what interested them in learning how to handload their own ammunition, almost all of them tell us that it’s how much money they can save that nudged them towards giving it a try.
Saving money is a legitimate reason to learn about reloading! However, there are some other benefits that shouldn’t be overlooked. For example:
- Reloading offers you the opportunity to customize your rounds
- You can make specialized rounds that may not exist in the market anymore
- Reloaded rounds tend to be more accurate than factory rounds
Reloading your own ammo affords you the ability to produce rounds that work for your specific gun and that perform more precisely to your intended application.
